The Indian trio of Deepika Kumari, Laishram Bombayla Devi and Chekrovolu Swuro settled for a silver medal after losing the recurve event final to their Italian opponents in the Archery World Championship at Turin on Sunday.

leaders South Korea at the end of the opening round of the
World Cup (Stage II) Archery Competition in Antalya, Turkey.

Kumari had to be content with a silver even as many star
archers including Jayanta Talukdar and Tarundeep Rai returned
empty handed from the archery event of the National Games on Thursday.
The trio of para-swimmer Prashant Karmakar, archer Deepika Kumari and gymnast Ashish Kumar feel that government still needs to upgrade its infrastructure and provide state-of-the-art training for consistent good results.
