With the onset of Diwali, air quality in the national capital is set to deteriorate over the next two days, with the Met department terming the condition as "severe".
New Delhi has been rated as the world`s worst city for air pollution, with an annual average of 153 micrograms of small particulates, known as PM 2.5, per cubic metre.
The report, submitted to the Delhi govt, estimated that about 55 per cent of Delhi`s population is directly affected by air pollution.
