A female giant panda in the zoo at the British city of Edinburgh has lost her cub late in her pregnancy.
The Edinburgh Zoo`s female giant panda, Tian Tian, underwent artificial insemination over the weekend after she and the facility`s male panda, Yang Guang, failed to mate, a zoo spokeswoman said.
Scientists have artificially inseminated UK`s only female giant panda at Edinburgh zoo, after she seemed unwilling to mate with a male partner.
China, home to the world`s Giant Pandas, has loaned two of the endangered species to Scotland for a whopping USD 935,000 a year.
