Thousands flocked to Japan`s Imperial Palace Tuesday to celebrate the 81st birthday of Emperor Akihito, who recalled the carnage of World War II and said he hoped the country would continue to pursue peaceful development.
Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko Tuesday relived old memories as they visited the India International Centre (IIC) and interacted with intelligentsia and old acquaintances, 53 years after they laid the foundation stone of the premier south Delhi institute.
