Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on Saturday yet again sought to dilute International Olympic Committee`s directive to bar charge-framed persons from contesting elections and instead decided to refer such cases to the Ethics Commission of the IOA to take a decision.
Indian Olympic Association (IOA) acting president Vijay Kumar Malhotra on Tuesday rubbished allegations made by senior member and eminent lawyer R.K.Anand that the former was aware of the showcause notice issued by the disbanded Ethics Commission to its president, Suresh Kalmadi.
The fierce wrangling in the IOA took a new turn on Monday with its senior functionary R K Anand claiming that the Ethics Commission`s `suspension` of Suresh Kalmadi was known to the apex body`s top brass but was deliberately kept under wraps, a claim which was rejected by the rival faction.
The bitter turf war in the IOA on Sunday took a dramatic turn with the release of a showcause notice to sacked CWG Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi by the body`s disbanded Ethics Commission and four office bearers later countering it as "fabricated and illegal".
Four office bearers of the IOA on Sunday rubbished reports that the sacked Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi was showcaused by its now disbanded Ethics Commission`s and sought for an inquiry by the acting president into the matter.
