A 47-day ban on trawling along Kerala coast that begins at the stroke of midnight Saturday due to the spawning season is likely to drive up fish prices.
Fishermen put out in large numbers from different parts of this island, Pamban and Mandapam on Saturday after a break of 45 days when fishing had been banned, officials said.
