India`s nuclear operator has started loading enriched uranium fuel in the first reactor of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project.
As anti-Kudankulam protests intensified, India`s nuclear regulator said it was yet to give final clearance for loading of enriched uranium fuel.
A senior official at the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project plant said they would commence loading real fuel in the Indo-Russian venture by the end of next week.
The KNPP has moved one step closer to its commissioning with Atomic Energy Regulatory Board giving the clearances required ahead of filling of the real fuel in the reactor.
