Germany suffered its worst recession since World War II last year when Europe`s largest economy contracted by five percent, provisional official figures released on Wednesday showed.
Germany`s economy, battered by the financial market chaos, will not recover to its pre-crisis levels for another four years, the head of the central bank in Europe`s top economy said on Monday.
A survey suggesting soaring investor confidence provided more cheer for the German economy on Tuesday, less than a week after data showed its worst recession in decades ending sooner than expected.
