Three days after Nepal and Indian infrastructure major GMR sealed a deal to develop the 900 MW Upper Karnali hydropower project in the Himalayan nation, senior officials from the two neighbours Monday resumed talks to build another mega bilateral power project in Nepal.

Nepal on Thursday slammed the Maoists for obstructing works on the
600 MW Upper Marsyangdi project in Western Nepal, a
hydro-power scheme developed by Indian energy giant GMR.
Nepal government has asked the
Maoists not to obstruct the work by an Indian firm-led
consortium on the 300 MW Upper Karnali hydro-power project and
assured to provide conducive environment at the site.
