The Assam Government has constituted a one-man committee to enquire into the Golaghat incident in the state on August 19 when one person died in a road accident while trying to escape police action during a protest.
The 12-hour Assam bandh called by the Opposition Asom Gana Parishad and the Assam Tea Tribes Students` Association, to protest against yesterday`s police firing in Golaghat in which three persons were killed, paralysed normal life across the state.
