Chief Minister Harish Rawat has put a ban on foreign tours by ministers, officials and members of the Legislative Assembly, aiming to cut down on unnecessary expenses and bring about greater transparency in governance.
In a move to tone up the administrative machinery, Karnataka Cabinet on Thursday decided to issue notices to senior officials for inordinate delay in disposal of files, even as it announced dismissal of two officers for alleged irregularities.
A petition was filed in
the SC proposing it give a direction to central and
state governments` investigating agencies to initiate criminal
proceedings against government officials if sanction
is not granted in 90 days.
