The time has come to stop mega housing projects in Goa, because the state may not be in a position to provide water to all its residents in the near future, Goa Forest and Environment Minister Alina Saldanha said Monday.
A total of 1,304 projects for providing affordable housing and basic amenities costing Rs.33,860 crore have been approved under a flagship scheme of the government, according to a statement by the ministry of housing.
Unavailability of adequate land
and lack of coordination among government agencies was leading
to delays in fulfilling the housing needs of police and
paramilitary forces, a Parliament panel was told on Wednesday.
