47% graduates in India unemployable for any job: Report

According to a report by Aspiring Minds, an employability solutions company, around 47 percent graduates In India are unemployable for any job.

Economic Survey: 28 million unemployed persons in 2009-10

The total number of unemployed mandays declined by 6.5 million persons, from around 34.5 million in 2004-05 to 28 million in 2009-10.

'India has around 7 cr unemployed or under-employed'

"As per results of the latest survey conducted by NSSO during 2009-10, the number of unemployed or under-employed persons on usual status basis in the country was 95 lakhs and about six crore respectively," Labour and Employment Minister Mallikarjun Kharge said in Rajya Sabha during Question Hour.

India may have grown at over eight percent, but a top adviser has expressed concern over the "stagnant employment situation", saying the country with 40 million unemployed people witnessed "jobless growth" during the Eleventh Five Year Plan period from 2007-08 to 2011-12.

Parl panel favours unemployment allowance

A Parliamentary panel has favoured providing allowance to registered unemployed youths across the country and also stressed on a strategy to attract private entreprises to notify their vacancies in job exchanges connected through a proposed national job portal.
