A strong 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck western Indonesia on Saturday, US seismologists said, but no tsunami warning was issued and there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
Soldiers, police and volunteers fanned out across an earthquake-damaged region of western Indonesia on Wednesday, scouring the debris of fallen homes and landslides for possible victims of a temblor that killed at least 22 people.
An undersea earthquake has rocked eastern Indonesia, causing panic among residents in neighbouring East Timor. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The US Geological Survey says the 6.1-magnitude quake struck evening off the eastern province of Papua.

received from Hyderabad-based centre for National tsunami
warning as a precaution.
