West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday urged industrialists to invest in the state to promote tourism and develop infrastructure during a visit to the Sunderbans, the world's largest mangrove forest.

Mamata Banerjee said that if elected to power in West Bengal, her government would ensure industrialisation in the
state but asserted that it would not acquire land for setting
up private industries.
Amartya Sen on Sunday described Jyoti Basu, who breathed his last in Kolkata, as one
who would be missed for his ideas and leadership and said he
was concerned about neglect of industrialisation in the state.
West Bengal Industries and Commerce Minister Nirupam Sen has accused the Trinamool Congress of creating problems in the state government`s land acquisition plans, thus delaying industrialisation in the state.
