The Federation of International Cricketers` Associations wants the under-fire N Srinivasan to stand aside from all ICC functions after being forced out as BCCI President owing to the IPL betting scandal.
An emergency working committee meeting of the BCCI will be held June 10 to discuss the issue of Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra`s alleged involvement in betting in the Indian Premier League (IPL), board`s interim chief Jagmohan Damiya announced Thursday and promised "strict action" if warranted.
BCCI chief N Srinivasan has brushed aside the suggestions that he should resign in the wake of spot-fixing allegations against his son-in-law and his IPL franchise CSK’s team principal Gurunath Meiyappan, who was arrested by Mumbai police on May 24.
In a new twist to the spot-fixing saga, the arrested duo of Gurunath Meiyappan, BCCI chief N Srinivasan`s son-in-law and small time actor Vindoo Dara Singh have named a Chennai hotelier in connection with the betting and spot-fixing scandal that has rocked Indian cricket.
The Mumbai police, currently investigating the spot-fixing allegation along with Delhi police, have reportedly claimed that CSK team principal Gurunath Meiyappan, who is also the son-in-law of BCCI chief and CSK owner N Srinivasan, disclosed team strategies to the bookies.
