The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is likely to question Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi`s close aide Amit Shah on Tuesday in connection with the 2004 Ishrat Jahan encounter case.
Nine years after the alleged fake encounter involving Ishrat Jahan and three others, the stage is set for the trial in the case when a special CBI court committed the case on Tuesday to the sessions court here.
A senior police officer named in
magistrate S P Tamang`s report which had stated that the
encounter of Ishrat Jahan and three others in 2004 was fake, on Friday told the Gujarat High court that he is ready to face a CBI enquiry.
