After three years of hectic negotiations, India and France have agreed on the cost of power that will be generated by Jaitapur Nuclear Power Plant (JNPP), clearing a major hurdle in the path of the project.
The leader of anti-nuclear protests in Kudankulam on Sunday charged the Centre and the Tamil Nadu government with suppressing the struggle "only to support foreign countries" which want to sell nuclear reactors.
The Bombay High Court admitted
the petition filed by former judge B G Kolse-Patil and stayed
criminal proceedings against him in connection with a protest
against Jaitapur nuclear power plant in Ratnagiri district.
