Jharkhand elections threw up a hung
Assembly on Wednesday with Shibu Soren`s JMM holding the key to
formation of the new government, as the Congress-JVM(P)
alliance emerged as the single largest group but fell way
short of majority.
The second phase of polling in 14
assembly constituencies in Jharkhand on Wednesday saw a turnout of 50 per cent amid a boycott call by Maoists who triggered a
landmine blast that killed a CISF jawan and blew up a culvert.
Amid Maoists` call for poll boycott,
elaborate security arrangements including air surveillance
have been put in place for the second phase of elections to 14
assembly seats, most of them Naxal-hit, in Jharkhand tomorrow.
