Sri Lankan authorities have arrested 19 Indian fishermen and seized five boats when they were allegedly fishing in the country`s waters.
At least 37 Indian fishermen have been arrested by the Sri Lanka Navy when they were fishing off the northern coast of the country, an official said Tuesday.
Sri Lankan navy on Sunday arrested 80 people off the northern town of Jaffna as they were heading to Australia by boat, navy spokesman Kosala Warnakulasuriya said.
About 37 Indian fishermen were arrested and five boats seized by the Sri Lanka Navy Monday for allegedly entering its territorial waters.
