The hardline faction of Hurriyat
Conference is consulting legal experts to challenge a Delhi
court`s verdict awarding death penalty to three persons
including two Kashmiris in the 1996 Lajpat Nagar blast case.
A Delhi court today sent to the
gallows three out of six convicted members of militant outfit
Jammu Kashmir Islamic Front (JKIF) for the 1996 Lajpat Nagar
market blast which had claimed 13 lives, saying their
"dastardly" act fell under the "rarest of rare" category.
The accused in the 1996 Lajpat
Nagar blast case are likely to file a fresh plea before a
Delhi court for transfer of the matter to a judge who was
earlier conducting the trial but was recently transferred.
