Andhra Pradesh government Monday said it is in favour of conducting local body polls in the state as early as possible in the wake of Supreme Court order that the elections be held on the basis of existing 60.5 per cent quota.
After challenging Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the recently-concluded Assembly elections, Gujarat Parivartan Party chief Keshubhai Patel on Sunday appealed to party cadres to gear up for upcoming polls to local bodies.
The NCP has the option of contesting
the upcoming local bodies elections on its own despite its stand that secular votes should not be divided, party chief
and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar said.
