MTNL remodelling workforce to earn Rs 500 cr this fiscal

State-run telecom firm MTNL is remodelling its workforce to make them sales, marketing and customer care driven as part of efforts to generate additional revenue of Rs 500 crore this fiscal, a top company official said Sunday.

After reporting widening of losses for nine quarters in a row, state-run telecom company MTNL Wednesday narrowed its standalone net loss to Rs 947 crore for the July-September period of this year mainly on account of lower provisions for employee retirement benefits.
