The United States has urged the Maldives to carry out a decisive presidential run-off without delay after elections failed to deliver a clear winner.
Maldives is at the centre of a political crisis after the police on Saturday halted the presidential election.
The country`s Supreme Court has annulled the results of the first round of polls, which had been held on September 7 and has called for a new vote.
