In the wake of the Mangalore
crash, DGCA has reviewed the compliance
by Air India Express of rules and procedures relating to
various key areas like operational safety, maintenance of
aircraft and security.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has dismissed suggestions that the "table top" airstrip at Bajpe airport where an Air India Express plane crashed Saturday was risky, saying it met aviation norms.
Authorities have recovered 146 bodies from the debris of the Air India flight that crashed in Mangalore and a court of inquiry will be ordered soon to know the cause of the disaster, Civil Aviation Secretary MM Nambiar said.
