Nepalese lawmakers begin a new push Wednesday to finally agree on a constitution that can deliver stability to the Himalayan nation, still divided by the legacy of a decade-long civil war.
The CPN-UML and Nepali Congress were locked in a neck-and-neck fight on Friday while the Maoists faced a rout in the election to choose an assembly that will draft Nepal`s new Constitution and end the political turmoil in the country.
Maoist politburo member Ram Karki said ideological
differences have surfaced within the party in recent time.

party was forced to put off its crucial public meeting on Tuesday
to avoid confrontation with the dissidents who had enforced
a general strike in Kathmandu.
