A United Nations investigator called on Chile`s government to stop using an anti-terrorism law against Mapuche Indians who are fighting to recover their ancestral land.
Chilean police arrested 19 people after clashing with a group of Mapuche Indians outside a court in a southern region that has been hit by a string of arson attacks.
President Sebastian Pinera was flying to the scene in Chile`s remote southern Araucania region with his Interior minister, who called it a terrorist act that will be severely punished.
