Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit
on Wednesday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during which the issue
of Lokpal Bill is understood to have figured.
Delhi Government on Friday sent a bill
providing for trifurcation of the MCD to the Union Home
Ministry for Presidential assent.
Opposing the proposed MCD split,
Delhi Mayor Rajni Abbi on Tuesday shot off a letter to Congress
chief Sonia Gandhi.
Dikshit has been strongly pushing for trifurcation of MCD as well as increasing reservation of seats for women to 50 per cent from the current 33 pc.

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has been strongly pushing for trifurcation of the MCD.
Slamming the Delhi government for
proposing trifurcation of MCD, city Mayor Rajni Abbi requested the Union Home Minister to hear the views of the
civic body before reaching a final decision on the issue.
MCD has been split into three smaller bodies but the number of wards will remain at existing 272.
The Mayor insisted that the 12 zones of the MCD should be strengthened to improve their functioning.
