The Maharashtra Assembly on Wednesday revoked the suspension of five legislators, who had allegedly assaulted a police officer.
Describing the 6-month suspension of six DMDK MLAs for allegedly assaulting a dissident party legislator in Tamil Nadu assembly as "maximum punishment," DMK chief M Karunanidhi requested that the punishment be further reduced.
The one year suspension of six Opposition DMDK MLAs in the Tamil Nadu Assembly was Tuesday reduced to six months following appeals by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and opposition parties.
