National Thermal Power Corporation
(NTPC) is likely to sign an agreement with the Sri Lankan
Government to build a 1,000-MW thermal power plant at a cost
of USD 500 million in the island nation by the month-end.
Alleging that Mukesh Ambani-led
RIL was trying to wriggle out of gas supply contracts with NTPC and itself, Anil Ambani group firm RNRL on Wednesday asked the SC to make the power PSU a party to its ongoing case against RIL.
The Power Ministry is believed to
have instructed state-run NTPC to sign a gas supply deal with RIL to lift government allotted quota, while favouring that marketing margins be decided by the Oil Ministry instead of the supplier.
