Amid indications that a nuclear contract would be signed with a US company soon, India on Friday asserted that the liability law will apply to all agreements that are inked with any country.
The CPI(M) demanded an
immediate stop on all new nuclear projects, saying it
was `elementary` for the government to pay heed to public
protests against such plants after the Fukushima disaster.
The radiation in Japan due to damage
of nuclear power plants would not have hazardous consequences
and people should not believe in rumours, Maharashtra chief
secretary Ratnakar Gaikwad said.
Prithviraj Chavan said there is doubt over safety of nuclear installations post Japan disaster.
