Govt issued orders to block 690 webpages in 3 yrs

The government today said it has issued directions to intermediaries for blocking 690 webpages/ URLs for carrying anti-social content.

Blocking of websites carrying offensive content cannot be a solution and rather a regulatory mechanism should be put in place to remove the offending material, a cyber security expert said here today.
