Islamabad: A prayer leader has been arrested for allegedly trying to molest an eight-year-old girl in northwest Pakistan province of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The incident happened yesterday in Chaihr village of Mansehra district, local media reported today.
The prayer leader from the village lured the girl going to school to a mosque by offering her sweets.
Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain has said the government is making every effort to have peace talks with the Tehreek-e-Taliban, but warned that action will be taken against the militant group if negotiations fail.
US envoy to Pakistan Richard Olson on Friday met Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and discussed regional security issues and the government`s peace initiative with militant groups including the Taliban.
