In its effort to strengthen the Panchayati Raj System, Jammu and Kashmir government has approved the annual plan 2013-14 under Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Sashaktikaran Abhiyan (RGPSA) to the tune of Rs 55.50 crore for funding.
Congratulating the people for
reposing faith in Panchayat Raj, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah
on Friday underlined the role of powerful panchayats in
ameliorating the socio-economic structure in the state.
Tripura has secured second position
in the country after Orissa for introducing model accounting
system in Panchayat Raj system and village committees in
Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council, official sources said.
