Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah met PM Manmohan Singh and raised issue of Army`s decision to close Pathribal encounter case, saying punishment is must for those who killed innocent people.
The Awami Mutahida Mahaz (AMM) on Friday termed the Army`s decision to close Pathribal fake encounter case as injustice and sought swift action against the guilty based on CBI findings.
Nearly six months after commencing General Court Martial proceedings against 5 officers in alleged fake Pathribal encounter case, army accepted demand of civilian witnesses to record their statements.
Five Army officers were allegedly involved in the Pathribal fake encounter killing of five innocent men in Anantnag district of Kashmir more than 12 years ago.
