Southeast Asia has become the world`s hotspot for pirate attacks after an international clampdown slashed the number of hijackings off the coast of war-torn Somalia, the UN said today.
In the first six months of 2011, there were 266 piracy attacks, said International Maritime Bureau.
China has warned of more pirate attacks in the Gulf of Aden and waters off Somalia in the coming months.
