Swiss scientists who carried out a probe reportedly showing that Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat probably died from polonium poisoning will give a press conference today to discuss the results.
According to the 108-page Swiss forensic report accessed by al-Jazeera, "unexpectedly high levels of polonium-210 and lead-210 activity" were detected in the remains extracted from the exhumed body of the late leader.
The 75-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner died in a military hospital near Paris in November 2004, shortly after falling ill at his West Bank compound.
