Notwithstanding Anna Hazare`s
demands for passage of Lokpal Bill by August-end, a
Parliamentary Committee examining the matter on Saturday made it
clear that the deadline cannot be met because of procedures as
part of which views of public were sought by September 3.
Amid divergent views on making
offences under Section 498A relating to cruelty on women for
dowry bailable, the Law Commission issued a consultation
paper seeking opinion of the public on the vexed issue.
