In a significant decision, the Public Service Commission (PSC) in Kerala on Monday approved a government proposal to make proficiency in Malayalam compulsory for getting state government jobs.
According to DVAC officials, searches were being held at around 70 premises in 12 districts.
Vigilance officials today conducted searches at the residences of some officials of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission in connection with alleged irregularities in conducting exams to various posts.

Service Commission, police sources said.
The scam pertains to forging of PSC papers like appointment
order, based on which six persons secured jobs in Wayanad
district in north Kerala.
