It is the responsibility of the
athletes to know more about the doping menace to keep their
career taint-free and help India avoid any embarrassment,
according the CWG Organising Committee Vice
Chairman Randhir Singh.
Miffed at the Sports Ministry for not inviting him for the National Sports Award ceremony, Indian Olympic Association Secretary General Randhir Singh on Tuesday resigned from the Governing Body of Sports Authority of India.
IOA Secretary General Randhir Singh on Wednesday advised
the Sports Ministry not to pursue its "brinkmanship" over the
contentious tenure limitation guidelines, warning it may lead
to a disaster which is easily avoidable.
Indian Olympic Association (IOA) secretary general Randhir Singh is rather amused by Sports Ministry`s opinion that he should have consulted the government before discussing the contentious tenure limitation guidelines.
The government has failed to
understand the Olympic Charter and should have consulted the
International Olympic Committee before issuing the regulation
to limit the tenures of sports administrators, Randhir Singh said.
