Security has been stepped up in three poll-bound Maoist infested constituencies of Kanker, Rajnandgaon and Mahasamund in Chhattisgarh amid inputs that naxals may foment trouble in these sensitive areas on April 17, when voting be held there during the second phase of Lok Sabha elections.
As the countdown began for the
Ayodhya title suit verdict, security was today beefed up
throughout the country and reinforcements tightened in and
around the disputed site in UP, which has been placed under high alert.
The two-and-half kilometres long
Jawahar tunnel, connecting Kashmir with Jammu region on
Jammu-Srinagar national highway, will remain open round the
clock, J&K Traffic Department officials on Sunday said.
