Sensex rebounds by 180 points to two-year high on rate cut hopes

The BSE benchmark Sensex on Friday bounced back by jumping nearly 180 points to close at two-year high level of 20,103.53 on heavy buying in interest-sensitive stocks ahead of RBI credit policy next week and better than expected earnings by Maruti Suzuki.

Led by RIL, Sensex scales fresh 2-year high

The BSE benchmark Sensex Monday rose to fresh two-year high of 20,101.82 points gaining 63 points on goody buying, particularly in RIL shares, triggered by strong quarterly earnings by corporates.

Sensex closes above 20,000-mark after two years

The Sensex gained 75.01 points, or 0.38 percent, to close at 20,039.04, a level last seen on January 6, 2011.

Sensex breaches 20K-mark after 2 years; closes a tad lower

After crossing 20,000 points level in early trade and again for a second time in the last hour of market, Sensex closed with a gain 80.41 points, or 0.40 percent, at 19,986.82. This is the first time since January 6, 2011 that the index crossed the 20,000-mark.
