A two-day-long `Dharma Sansad` convened by the Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati of Dwarka Peeth Monday passed a resolution that Sai Baba, the 19th century saint from Shirdi, should not be worshipped as a deity by the followers of `Sanatan Dharma`.
The ongoing spat between Shirdi Sai Baba devotees and Shankaracharya Swaroopanand Saraswati turned uglier on Monday when a scuffle broke out between their followers during a “Dharma Sansad” (Religious Parliament) organised at Kawardha in Chhattisgarh.
The candidates in this constituency, known as home of Shirdi Sai Baba, are wooing the voters in the name of the popular guru, assuring better infrastructure, top class facilities for devotees ahead of his death centenary in 2018.
