Rajasthan panchayat ordinance: Petitioners to file SLP in SC

With Rajasthan High Court refusing to immediately interfere with a state government ordinance fixing educational qualifications for candidates in Panchayat elections, the petitioners on Thursday said they will file a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court seeking justice.

Tripura Minister for School Education Tapan Chakraborty said the Supreme Court`s decision to admit the Special Leave Petition against a Tripura High Court order dispensing with the services of 10,323 teachers came as a "relief" to the government.
