Public transport in West Bengal is set to get dearer with a group of ministers Tuesday recommending hike in fares of state-run and private buses, mini buses, deluxe buses and taxis following increased diesel prices.

ruled out a hike in bus, minibus and taxi fares following
recent increase in fuel prices, saying present situation
did not merit it and warned of stern action if the transport
operators went for a strike.
