The group of Islamist gunmen who stormed the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi last year, killing at least 67 people, may have entered Kenya from neighbouring Uganda, a senior police official was quoted as saying on Saturday.
The Kenyan government has said that the four bodies recovered from the Westgate shopping mall were of the terrorists who were behind the deadly attack Sep 21. Over 70 people were killed and more than 200 injured.
Al Qaeda-linked Islamist militants, claiming they were still holding hostages, on Tuesday battled Kenyan troops for the fourth day of a bloody siege at a Nairobi mall and threatened further attacks against the country.
Kenya`s President said that his forces had "defeated" Islamists from Somalia`s al Shabaab, had shot five of them dead and detained 11 others suspected of killing 67 people after storming a Nairobi shopping mall.
