Here is some good news for farmers as researchers have cracked genetic blueprint of wheat.
India-born and crop scientist Dr Sanjaya Rajaram has been honoured with the 2014 World Food Prize for his outstanding contribution to global wheat production.
The annual mean temperature in India is expected to rise by 3.5-4.3 degrees Celsius by 2098, badly impacting production of wheat.
The Punjab government Thursday said
the state would achieve wheat output of nearly 157 lakh
tonnes, almost 4 per cent more than the previous year`s
production, on the back of favourable weather conditions.
