Over 12 lakh migratory birds from Central Asia, Eastern Europe and Japan have flocked to Kashmir, giving a vibrant look to the wetlands and water bodies in the Valley.
The Wullar lake, Asia`s largest fresh water lake, has been encroached upon over the past century reducing it from 217 sq km to just 125 sq km.
Jammu and Kashmir Forest department will fell more than 18,000 trees which have grown in Asia`s largest freshwater lake, Wullar, to conserve it.
