Assassination plot against former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal foiled by UP police

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh police have foiled an assassination plot against former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal. 

On October 24, miscreants attacked a police picket in Jhinjhana, Shamli district. They snatched two rifles and shot at a home guard. 

Three people were arrested for the incident, said the police. 

The main accused, who is absconding, was related to Khalistan movement and had planned to kill Badal

“The criminals intended to create disturbance at Oct 7 rally of former Punjab CM Parkash S Badal in Punjab,” said Meerut ADG Prashant Kumar on Monday.

“Preliminary investigation reveals there was also a threat to the life of former Punjab CM Prakash Singh Badal. The main accused who is absconding has a lot of Khalistan related information on his Facebook page,” he added.
