A similar unruly situation was repeated within a span of four days in the Meerut municipal corporation as members of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) broke out into a feud during a meeting on Saturday. A video released by news agency ANI showed scuffle breaking out between councillors of both the parties.
The clashes broke out during the Meerut Nagar Nigam Board meeting. Following a heated argument, members of both the party indulged in a scuffle.

On Tuesday, members of the BSP and the BJP came to blows during a meeting. Police personnel were seen making attempts to control the situation but they failed to control the unruly officials.
There have been many more instances of such scenes which were reported from the Meerut municipal corporation. Members of the BJP and the BSP had in January engaged in a heated argument in Meerut over the singing of Vande Mataram. BSP members had played the song instead of singing it leading to an altercation.
The heated argument was ensued because of a proposal floated in the Meerut Municipal Corporation House to terminate the membership of a group of Muslim councillors after the leaders staged a walkout when Vande Mataram was being played.
